For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:13-14
Jesus is restoring us to God
But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
1 Corinthians 15:20-22
. . . the Spirit of creation is the same as the Spirit of sanctification, and therefore God is working in us over the whole of our lives, not just at the moment of our conversion.
Dr. Kelly Kapic, You’re Only Human
We’re in process that leads to glorification in heaven, ultimately. So we not only have hope in this life of heaven, but we have purpose. We are becoming like our Savior, like our God as we learn to live in His kingdom, by His authority, according to His rules.

Jesus is using us
Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
1 Corinthians 15:33-34
If there is a resurrection, there is also a judgment. There is a giving account. . . Act as a child of God. Act by Kingdom ethics. Act in line with the character of your King. . . . Wrong thinking about the resurrection or any other fundamental articles of faith inevitably leads to wrong behavior. . . . Jesus calls us to be holy. . . . Jesus has given us gifts in His service that we are to use. It’s not an option. . . . The resurrection calls us to a life of faithfulness and obedience as we wait for Christ’s return.
