We Praise God

We Turn Away
[In verse 6], David switches from being grateful for what God has given him, to replacing God with those gifts. He has replaced God. He has replaced his dependence on God with dependence on himself.

God Faithfully Restores Us
“Have you known God as your helper: the One who sustains you, cares for you, forgives you; the One who renews your strength, brings joy to your heart, brings an inner peace that is beyond explanation; brings a rest to your soul that you just can’t explain? Or are you still traveling far from home–in despair, in hopelessness, too stubborn to return, to return to your Maker, and so you go on living an empty, unfulfilling life? David’s message to you is that God is faithful. He is waiting for you to humble yourself before Him, to simply see your need of Him and turn to Him in repentance. He will receive you back. He will be your Helper. He’ll be your security and strength. He’ll give you ample reason to praise Him all the days of your life.”
